Connecting Europe through high-speed rail
The Communication will build on the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and set up a strategic plan to accelerate the implementation of an EU-wide high-speed rail network, structured around the following pillars: 1) enabling a citizen-oriented service model by facilitating EU-wide high-speed rail connectivity; 2) coordinated planning, financing, and implementation of infrastructure; 3) facilitating a profitable business model for operators and ensuring their competitiveness on the high-speed rail network.
