Affordable housing act
The housing crisis in the EU is particularly acute in some cities and tourist hotspots, where short-term rentals may intensify competition for limited housing stock.
The Commission will propose a new initiative to:
- help public authorities identify when an area can be considered under housing stress
- provide legal certainty on justified and proportionate measures that authorities can take to temporarily protect housing markets
- identify longer-term solutions for increased housing supply.
