Bakgrunn

(1) Pursuant to Article 32, third paragraph of Directive (EU) 2017/2397, where delegated acts adopted under that Directive refer to standards, the Commission is to make or update the relevant reference and enter the date of application in Annex IV to that Directive.
(2) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1185 refers to standards for competences and corresponding knowledge and skills, for practical examinations, for the approval of simulators and for medical fitness referred to in Articles 17(1) and (3), 21(2) and 23(6) of Directive (EU) 2017/2397, which have been drawn up by the European Committee for drawing up standards in the field of inland navigation (CESNI) and which apply from 1 January 2026.
(3) Annex IV to Directive (EU) 2017/2397 should include the references to the CESNI standards that are referred to in Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/118 and the date of their application. Directive (EU) 2017/2397 should therefore be amended accordingly,
