EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) – update to list of neighbouring container transhipment ports
This initiative updates the legislation identifying neighbouring container transhipment ports under the ETS, to reduce the risk of evasion. The update will use the criteria defined in Article 3ga(2) of Directive 2003/87/EC, on the share of transhipment of containers at these ports and the distance to a port under the jurisdiction of a Member State. The legislation identifying neighbouring container transhipments ports under FuelEU Maritime is being updated at the same time.
