Toy Safety Directive – update banning Lilial, reducing Bisphenol A limit, removing references to standards in Appendix C
This initiative will introduce technical adaptations to the Toy Safety Directive which are necessary before the new Toy Safety Regulation starts applying.
It will:
- - ban the use of the allergenic fragrance Lilial in toys, as this substance has been classified as toxic for reproduction;
- - remove the references to European standards EN 71-10 and EN 71-11, as there are more recent testing methods;
- - lower the limit value for Bisphenol A in toys to reflect the most recent testing methods.
