Public transport by rail and by road – Simplification of reporting requirements
This initiative aims to simplify reporting obligations of authorities imposing public service obligations under Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 on public road and rail transport. They would no longer have to annually report operators’ compensation for costs, but only when a contract is awarded and compensation exceeds EUR 1 million. This information would be more easily available to stakeholders as the authorities would use the registry to be put in place under Commission Decision (EU) 2025/2630.
This initiative is part of a package and the Call for Evidence is shared. The main entry is Road transport smart enforcement and simplification.
