Ecodesign requirements for iron and steel products

Making steel manufacturing and its use more sustainable is a key goal of the EU Clean Industrial Deal and the Steel and Metal Action Plan. The proposed Industrial Accelerator Act sets low-carbon requirements for steel in public procurement and public support schemes.

This initiative:

• defines low-carbon steel and sets ecodesign requirements to promote the sustainable and circular design of iron and steel products
• improves access to information on their sustainability and circular production.
