EU water policy – targeted revision of the Water Framework Directive
The Water Framework Directive is the heart of EU water policy. Critical raw materials are vital for competitiveness, but the EU is still heavily dependent on undiversified imports. The RESourceEU action plan aims to address such dependencies to speed up the diversification of supply. To address specific challenges faced by critical raw materials projects under the Directive, the initiative will promote access to these materials in the EU, while protecting the environment and human health.
