Ship recycling – format of the ready for recycling certificate
This initiative aims to update the format of the ready for recycling certificate, delivered under the EU Ship Recycling Regulation to ships destined to be recycled. The initiative will facilitate the use of the certificate under the Hong Kong Convention.
With the Convention having entered into force on 26 June 2025, this initiative will reduce administrative burden by enabling ship owners to meet their obligations under both the Regulation and the Convention with a single certificate.
