Road transport - smart enforcement and simpler rules - omnibus (Regulation)

Road transport is vital to the EU economy. To support the sector, the Commission proposes to reduce the current administrative burden created by disruptive and lengthy controls and paper-based processes. The aim of this proposed regulation therefore is to simplify the rules and reduce the burden on businesses by using smart enforcement and digitalisation to make controls more targeted, shift documentary checks to the back office and cut paperwork for operators and authorities.
