Consumers and consumers' associations, economic operators (manufacturers of mobile phones, chargers and other portable devices potentially affected by the measure, importers and distributors -including Small and Medium Enterprises), Member States’ authorities, Market Surveillances for the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, the European Standardisation organisations (ESOs), the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
Why we are consulting
The purpose of this consultation is to gather evidence and views on the current situation for chargers for mobile phones and other portable devices. The consultation shall help to analyse the problem following the expiration of the previous voluntary agreement between mobile phone producers and seek stakeholders’ views on the need for EU action and its possible impacts.
