BAKGRUNN (fra Kommisjonens pressemelding, dansk utgave)
Competition: Commission publishes 2009 Annual Report on Competition Policy
The report gives an overview of the key changes to the EU competition rules and policy and the major enforcement actions. The Focus Chapter of the Report is devoted to the contribution of competition policy to fight the financial and economic crisis. It demonstrates how the competition policy tools were used to face up to the crisis and highlights the benefits that competition policy delivers to the internal market. As the experience of 2009 shows, competition policy has a major role to play in the transition from an economy in a crisis that needs public support and aid to the dynamic and sustainable economy the Europe 2020 strategy is aiming at. The full text of the 2009 Annual Report on Competition Policy and its accompanying Staff Working Document will be available on http://ec.europa.eu/competition/publications/annual_report/index.html
