European tourism statistics – legislative update
Regulation (EU) No 692/2011 established a common framework for the systematic development, production and dissemination of European statistics on tourism. The objective of this new initiative is to make it fit for the future. It will better address new user needs and better integrate new data sources and methods into the statistical production process. The aim is to produce more complete, timely and cost-efficient European statistics on tourism without increasing the net burden on respondents.
