Tobacco products and tobacco advertising – revision of EU rules
The EU intends to update its tobacco control rules in response to the latest market developments, consumption trends and digital marketing practices. The aims of the initiative are to:
- improve the functioning of the internal market
- strengthen public health protection
- ensure continued implementation of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, in line with the objectives of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
